I thought that Santa Maria loved my Fly Sky High Kale Salad for its taste—an unbeatable combination of toasted pine nuts, parmesan, and lemon—but it turns out that there may be another reason for her passion. According to a recent iVillage posting, pine nuts are rich in zinc, "a mineral needed to optimally maintain the production of sex hormones, particularly testosterone," making them, according to iVillage, something of an aphrodisiac.
One could only hope. I’ve also heard that the odor in sweat (a study conducted at the University of Utah) and Good n’ Plenty are aphrodisiacs. Not buying it.
